Fire Department personnel have completed a review of the plans you submitted for the
above referenced project and have no conditions or corrections to be met prior to
issuance of building permit. Fire Department approval is based upon the 1988 Uniform
Building Code requirements for Group B occupancies. It is prohibited to use, process
or store any materials in this occupancy that would classify it as an H occupancy per
Chapter 9 of the 1988 Uniform Building Code.
THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS MUST BE MET PRIOR TO OCCUPANCY:
1. Install portable fire extinguishers per NFPA, Pamphlet #10, but not less than
2A10BC in rating. Contact certified extinguisher company for proper placement
of equipment.
2. All compressed gas cylinders in service or in storage shall be adequately secured
to prevent falling or being knocked over.
3. Smoking shall be prohibited in or around supply enclosures. "NO SMOKING -OXYGEN"
or similar warning signs shall be posted in the enclosure.
4. If the building is equipped with an automatic fire sprinkler system, all areas
must be°covered by sprinkler heads.
Please contact the Fire Department for a final inspection prior to occupancy.
Requests for inspections and/or tests are to be made at least 24 hours in advance and
may be arranged by calling (619) 342-8886.
All questions regarding the meaning of these conditions should be referred to the Fire
Department Planning & Engineering Staff at (619) 342-8886.
