Please be advised the following conditions apply as a part of the conditions for the issuance of a building permit. Fire Department approval is based upon the 19.94 UBC requirements for Group.B, S1 and H4 occupancies. It is prohibited to use, process or store any materials in the occupancy that would classify it as an H occupancy per Sec. 307 of the 1994 UBC. 2. The Fire Department is required to set a minimum fire flow for the remodel or construction of 'all commercial buildings using the procedure established in the California Fire Code. Afire flow of 2,400 gpm for a 3 hour duration at 20. psi residual operating pressure must be available before any combustible material is placed on the job site. 3. The required fire flow shall be available from a (Standard/Super) hydrant(s) (6" x 4" x 2'/2' x 2'/2") located not less than•25' or more than 165' from any portion of the building(s) as measured along approved vehicular travel ways. 4.. Prior to the issuance of a building permit, applicant/developer shall.furnish one blueline copy of the water system plans to the Fire Department for review. Plans shall conform to the fire hydrant types, location and spacing, and the system shall meet the fire flow requirements. Plans must be signed by a registered Civil Engineer and the local water company. with the following certification: "I certify that the design of the water system is in accordance with the requirements prescribed by the Riverside County Fire Department". 5. Provide written certification from the appropriate water company that hydrants will be installed and will produce the required fire flow. 6. Install a complete fire sprinkler system per NFPA,13. The.post indicator valve and fire . department connection shall be located to the front within 50' of a hydrant, and a minimum of 25' from the building. If the building/facility is protected with a fire alarm system or burglar alarm system, the lock boxes will require "tamper" monitoring. 14. If the facility requires Hazardous Materials Reporting (Material Safety Data sheets) the Knox Haz Mat Data and Key Storage Cabinet, Model 1220 or 1300 with tamper switches shall be used. If the building/facility is protected with a fire alarm system or burglar alarm system, the lock boxes -will require "tamper" monitoring. Other requirements: 15. Prior to final inspection of any building, the applicant shall prepare and submit to the Fire Department for approval, a site plan designating required fire lanes with appropriate lane painting and/or signs. 16. If the building is used for high piled/rack storage, the building construction and fire sprinkler system, must meet NFPA 231 C and Article 81 of the 1994 UFC. 18. Tanks for the storage of crankcase drainage shall be installed in accordance with the requirements for Class IIIB liquid storage.
