Figure CC -2 gives the wind speed with a 25 -year Mean Recurrence Interval. The wind speed per that figure is 79 mph. This installation is located in a "C" exposure. Referring to sheet 2 of the original calculations, the values given there for KZ, Kdand G are unchanged in 7-10. "I" and Kzt can be taken as 1.0. The velocity pressure "q" calculated per 7-10 is at LRFD level, and is factored by 0.6 for ASD level. The directional procedure of Chapter 27 is used. Per 7-10, Eq. 27.3-1: For the windward wall, q = (.00256)(0.85)(1)(0.85)(792) = 11.54 psf (LRFD) or 6.92 psf (ASD) These values are slightly less than the ASD values used in the original report of 7.79 psf. In 7-10, the coefficients for the wall and roof surfaces are given in Figure 27.4-1. These values are the same as given in Figure 6-3 of 7-05. In summary, the wind pressures calculated per 7-10 using a 25 year Mean Recurrence Interval are slightly lower than the wind pressures used in our 2009 calculations (and for which the structure was found to be adequate). 13 Honor M.
