Requests approval to make certain improvements to our unit in "Lago La Quint&".
During the past two years I have had deteriorating health problems in my legs. My doctor has recommended
that I use a wheelchair to reduce the strain on my leg joints.
This however has caused extra strain on my wife Edith to pick the wheelchair up to the trunk of our car and to
remove it also, We therefore decided to purchase an electric wheelchair and a handicap equipped van. This
eliminated the problem of handling the wheelchair.
Thv van has a ramp,, which extends from the side of the van and I can drive up the ramp and into the van.
Exiting the van is also very simple.
Extending the ramp and exiting and entering is no problem in a public parking lot or open area presents no
problem. However, in our driveway and garage we have problems. To provide sufficient maneuverability
space we must replace our old 16 -foot door to a new modem 17 FtAinch wide sectional door, (Less than 10%
increase in width.) `/. r. Af ,
The van has limited storage for traveling. A storage pod on the top of the van is used for travel. The storage
pod was delivered yesterday. We find that iIN#
s the van and pod higher than the underside of a glue tam
header for a 7 -ft. high door. We must use a oor. This door is approximately a 7% increase.

W.,
I went to the door supplier's warehouse and the difference in size was barely noticeable. The dealer had to use
a tape measure to identify the difference size door. Also, I noticed that the garage doors that were mounted in a
reoomod area appeared to be smaller than a dnnr mounted on a nwly flush area.
Our present door is recessed and appears to be smaller than the doors of our neighbor. The door of our neighbor
at appears to be huge compared with our door at 78125 Lago Dr.
We Also Muest an v%on to use a
