A theraNutic current is 4encrated in me spa 6 in. diameter propeller hidden inside a stainless steel propulsion housing. The propeller is powered hydraulically so electricity is kept from the pool. The 5 hp hydraulic power unit (50eps or 60eps) can be located up to 75 R from the spa. The spa water is kept warm and clean using industry standard equipment, including a circulating pump, cartridge filter, electric or gas heater, pool purifier, and timer. In many ways, the Endless Pool"m is like a large hot tub except it is designed for cardiovascular fitness training, aqua aerobics and hydrotherapy. Filling and Draining: The spa contains 2,500 gallons of water and is typically filled with garden hose and drained through a 1/2 in. hose bib plumbed into the 1-112 in. line connecting the water quality system to the spa skimmer and drain. The spa is usually drained and refilled once every year or two depending on use. Water Purificatiem: The spa water is circulated automatically at p=ct times through a mechanical filter, heater, and water purification system. The purification system automatically puts silver in the water to kill bacteria and copper to kill algae. Small amounts of chlorine are used to oxidize the organic materials that cannot be removed by the purification system. The level of chlorine required is less than the EPA standards for drinldng water. There is no chlorine odor or effects. Electric Rer it m nts: The 5 EP (50cps or 60 cps) hydraulic power unit requires a 30 amp, single phase 220 volt service. At peak load this unit draws 23 amps. The power unit is turned on and off using an air switch poolside. The air switch activates a controller which provides electricity to the power unit. The 5.5 kw electric heater also requires a 30 amp, single phase, 220 volt service. The equipment must be wired in accordance with local code by a licensed local electrician All electrical components are UL or CSA approved T o 'ii : Unlike a swimming pool, the Endless Poo1Tm is a nor bl sus. The Endless PoolTu is delivered to the job site in kit form for bolt -together assembly. The Endless Poollm can be unbolted and moved with the homeowner should they relocate. Your Endless Poo)TM installation will be classified as a pool or spa based upon your local ordinances, local code office interpretation, and definitions contained in the National Electric Code. Article 680, "Swimming pools. PounteiM and Similar Installations." When speaking to those concerned with permits, it may be useful to refer to the Endless Pool as a "trans ortab " rather than a "swimming pool." =-r- 200 E Dutton Mill Rd., Aston, PA 19014 • Phone (610) 497-8676 ■ Fax (610) 497-9m Website: hitp:llwww.endies:spools.com ■ E-mail: swim Oendlsswols.com TOTAL P.02; ■ Excellent for aquatic aerobics, strength training, therapy and rehabilitation Here's what former Olympic skier, professional water therapist, and trainer Leslie Krichko has to say about the Endless Pool for aquatic exercise: 'You don't have to be a swimmer to benefit from an Endless Pool. People who want to get fit and stay fit using aquatic exercise find that they can actually make greater progress b= in an Endless Pool than on land. That's because the water and current provide resis- tance esintance in all directions, not just one. No matter which way you move, you benefit — yet without any of the jarring or pounding that occurs on land When you finish, your mus- cles have had a great workout, but your joints haven't been stressed or damaged. Unlike swimming, you don't need any technique to make real progress with aquatic exercise, so it's ideal for people of all ages, abilities, and physical make -ups. If you like par- ticular sports, you can practice the movements involved in that sport in the water — run- ners can run, soccer players can kick, etc. (If you're a tennis player, just practice your fore- hand and backhand strokes with water resistance. You'll be amazed at how your power will increasep Water exercise is wonderful for weight loss, too. People's whole bodies change. They become healthier and more compact with regular water-based exercise. And water therapy actually helps- people with injuries recover faster, for several reasons: (A) In the pool, injured people can exercise with a greater range of motion without hurting joints or re -injuring themselves. (B) The workout gets blood moving faster through the injured area, so they heal faster. (G) Water pressure helps keep down the swelling that often accompanies injury, and (D) they increase their physical fitness while they recuperate, so they may even avoid having prolonged physical therapy just to get back in shape. Water therapy can also be a godsend for people with arthritis, oesteoporosis, MS, chronic joint or back pain, and other conditions.' With an Endless Pbo1 you can swim whenever you .wisb, as long as you want, at a tempenature and speed you choose, ' in water that looks, feels; and smells wonderfully pure. Endless Pool owner Ladle Krkhio was a US Olympic cross-country slier before a foot Injury cut short her career in I"I She started to compete again In 198S, but just before the 1988 Olympics she felt the Injury beginning to hamper her agalm She had surgery on bar foot but thought she would have to miss the Olympics until a doctor told her about water therapy. Thanb to reha. bilitation in the pool, Leslie recovered to become the top American finisher in the'88 gomes. She was to Impressed with the results that she became a full-time aquatic trainer and therapist Now, if a client worth land-based training, Ladle politely sends them to someone else, so con. vinced Is she of the superiority of water4mmed therapy Specif cations STANDARD EXTERIOR DIMENSION:: 8 1' W. , J,51 iT.L"x. 3' 6" D ' SWIMi+11Nt ARF11;iTix 1: • CONSTRUCTION:Steel`panel pool wldr4 22-mll virryl liner, snlnless-steel ' internaFcomponents SITE RE_ QUIREMEN ' Solid level, floocy, le of s Can be Installed above ground,partlally"above,grotn4 ' or completely;bt-g 4i,^.: MINIMUM POWER REQUIREMENTS 220 volts, 30 amps (GFC) (mime gas heir):=. 110 vola, 2d amps'jGFCQ.
