A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF LA QUINTA, CALIFORNIA,
RECOMMENDING TO THE CITY COUNCIL
CONCURRENCE WITH ENVIRONMENTAL
ASSESSMENT NO. 91-187 AND APPROVAL OF
GENERAL PLAN AMENDMENT NO. 91-035, A
REQUEST TO AMEND THE LA QUINTA GENERAL
PLAN LAND USE MAP FROM MEDIUM DENSITY
RESIDENTIAL TO GENERAL COMMERCIAL.
CASE N0. GPA 91-035 - THE KOENIG COMPANIES
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of La
Quinta, California, did, on the 9th day of April, 1991, hold a
duly-noticed Public Hearing to consider the request of The
Koenig Companies to amend the La Quinta General Plan Land Use
Map from Medium Density Residential to General Commercial for a
site totaling 11.8 gross acres, located at the northwest coiner
of Washington Street & Calle Tampico, more particularly
described as:
APN 769-030-007 and a portion of 769-030-032
WHEREAS, at said Public Hearing, upon hearing and
considering all testimony and arguments, if any, of all
interested persons desiring to be heard, said Planning
Commission did find the following facts and reasons to justify
the approval of said General Plan Amendment:
1. Traffic impacts caused by the implementation of GPA 91-035
can be mitigated to a large degree.
2. The request for commercial land use is consistent with the
intent of the La Quinta General Plan.
3. This General Plan Amendment application complies with the
requirements of "The Rules to Implement the California
Environmental Quality Act of 1970" (County of Riverside
Resolution No. 82-213, adopted by reference in City of La
Quinta Ordinance No. 5). Mitigation measures can be
generated to reduce the impact of General Commercial land
uses on the subject property.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Planning
Commission of the City of La Quinta, California, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct and
constitute the findings of the Commission in this case;
2. That the Planning Commission does hereby recommend to the
City Council approval of General Plan Amendment No. 91-035
consisting of a Land Use Map Amendment as described in
Exhibit "A", attached hereto.

the La Quinta Planning Commission, held on this 9th day of
April, 1991, by the following vote, to wit:
