Mark these using a vertical (N -S) chalk line on the center of the rafters. Spacing may vary depending upon project specific structural requirements; i.e. high snow and wind load areas may require lesser bracket spacing in the E -W axis vs. the maximum spacing. Max spacing is 48" for portrait orientation and 72" for landscape orientation. Consult project layout diagram for project specific bracket spacing on the roof. Install Rock -It Mounts to predetermined mount spacing. • The array skirt sections are the width of a typical 60 cell module - use the array skirt as a guide to lay out module placement. Note: The distance between the rows of mounts is calculated by the module dimension N -S plus 1 3/8" (35mm). Lag screw should be Installed as close to center of exposed shingle as possible. GreenFasTen FLasHinG insTaLL 1 Locate the rafters and snap horizontal and vertical lines to mark the installation position for each GreenFasten flashing. 2 Drill a pilot hole (1 /4" diameter) for the lag bolt. Backfill with sealant. EcoFasten Solar recommends an EPDM mastic. 3 Insert the flashing so the top part.is under the next row of shingles and pushed far enough up slope to prevent water infiltration through vertical joint in shingles. The leading edge of flashing must butt against upper row of nails to prevent turning when torqued. 4 Line up pilot hole with GreenFasten flashing hole. Insert the lag bolt through the EPDM bonded washer, the Rock -It slide, the gasketed hole in the flashing and into the rafter. Torque: The range is between 100-140 torque inch -pounds depending on the type of wood and time of year. The visual indicator for proper torque is when the EPDM on the underside of the bonded washer begins to push out the sides as the washer compresses. If using an impact wrench to install the fasteners be careful not to over torque the fastener. You may need to stop and use a ratchet to finish the install. www.ecofastensolar.com info@ecofastensolar.com 877-859-3947 ROCK -IT SYSTem insTaLL ROCK -IT SYSTEM' 1 Install EcoFasten Solar Flashing with Rock -It Mounts Follow GreenFasten Install instructions for flashing and bracket install on composition shingle roofs. Application temperature range: 20F —120F. If application air temperatures are below 40F, con- dition product at 70F prior to using for best results. Cut tip at a 45 -degree angle. Location of cwt will determine desired bead thickness. Puncture seal. Apply sealant to joint. Typically, minimum 3/8"-1/2" beads should be used for proper bonding and sealing. Fill joints in continuous beads from deepest point and avoid overlapping of sealant to prevent air entrapment. Adhesive/sealant should wet the joint wall surfaces. With lap joints, apply adhesive/sealant to both inside and outside of joint for best results. Adhesive/sealant provides 1-3 hour working time before skinning. Adhesivelsealant cures with exposure to normal atmospheric moisture with full cure in 1-3 days depending on humidity. May be used on damp surfaces; take steps to remove standing water. For best results, use opened cartridges and sausages the same day. APPROPRIATE SURFACES: RainBuster 850 is appropriate for use in new construction and repairs on a wide range of common roofing materials including concrete, clay, slate, composition, fiber -cement, asphalt saturated shingles, masonry, mortar, metals Including galvanized, aluminum, and copper, underlayment and fells, plastics including PVC, vinyl, fiberglass, nails, and wad. PREPARATION: For best adhesion results, surfaces should be dean, and free from dirt, dust, oils, release ager% standing water, old sealants, or other contaminants. Dust and lows particles should be blown oft surfaces. FIELD PRETEST: Due to the varied nature of construction substrates, field-test adhesive/sealant on actual surfaces prior to beginning work User must determine 4 result including adhesion are acceptable. TO01i I required, tooling is recommended within 20 minutes after application. Tooling should be done in one continuous stroke. Techniques using solvents or soaps are not recommended. If masking, remove tape Immediately after tooting. CLEAN UP: Clean hands safely with RainBuster Top Towels (citrus wipes). Mlneral spirits and other commercial solvents such as xylene, toluene, or methyl ethyl ketone (ME)Q may be used to clean up excess smears and tools. The use of solvents may be hazardous to your health. Keep away from open flame and use In well -ventilated area. Follow solvent manufacturer's Instructions. Cured adhestve/sealant is difficult to remove and must be done so by abrasion or other mechanical means. PAINTING OVER RAINBUSTER 850: For best results, apply paint over RalnBuster 850 adhesive/sealant 72 hours atter application. High quality 100% acrylic paints and primers are recommended. Many roofing specific spray paints are acceptable. Avoid the use of oil base paints as they may exhibit a slow/non- curing condition when in contact with adhesive/sealant. Paint when weather and temperature conditions meet paint manufacturer requirements. Feld pre-test for suitability of paint and painting process is required. Contractor must determine suitability. Consult Top Industrial for further information. MAINTENANCE No maintenance should be needed. If adhesive/sealant becomes damaged, remove damaged portion. Clean surfaces in damaged area, and repair with fresh RainBuster 850. PRIMING PRIOR TO APPLICATION: Generally, priming is not required. If adhesion pretest is unacceptable, consult Top industrial for recommendations. APPLICATION OVER GLAZED, PRE- PAINTED, OR PRE -PRIMED SURFACES: Glazed, pre -painted and pre -primed surfaces typically do not -have the adhesive quality or flexibility of RainBuster 850 adhesive/sealant. Lack of adhesive/sealant contact with raw substrate may inhibit ability to maintain bond and seal. Glaze, paint or primer may pug away from raw substrate with joint movement. USE WITH ASPHALT BASED SELF - ADHERED FLASHING (A.K.A. SBS modi- fied asphalt & bituminous material): When used appropriately, RainBuster 850 Can be used successfully with asphalt - based flashings. Unlimited contact is acceptable between adhesive/sealant and the permanent polyethylene/plastic- based facer side of self -adhered asphalt flashings. Steps must be taken to minimize contact with the adhesive side of asphaft flashings. Plasticizers in adhesive/sealant may accelerate the normal moistening and softening of asphalt that occurs with heat. Do not apply adhesive/sealant directly to adhesive asphalt side of flashing. Do not apply adhesive side of asphalt flashing directly over adhesive/sealant. Remove excess sealant prior to application of adhesive asphalt side of flashing. User must determine suitability through field pretest. Consult Top Industrial for further information. LIMITATIONS: Suitability for each intended use must be determined by the user using the Information found in this data sheet and an application pretest • Not for use over standing surface water or Surface frost • Not designed to replace use of mechanical fasteners. • Not for use where subjected to constant water immersion. • When painted, user must determine paint suitability. See"Painting" section for detailed limitations. • When used with asphalt -based self - adhered flashings, user must determine suitability through field pretest See 'Use With Asphalt" section for detailed limitations. • Do not cure in presence of curing silicone sealants.
