It was pointed out by the inspector the other day that shear
walls A and B and 1 and 2 had been sheathed on only one side
with 4 inch on center nailing instead both sides as called
for on the plans. Upon reviewing my calculation, I
discovered that for walls A, 1 and 3, 3 inch on center
nailing will work if the walls are sheathed on one side. The
ends of each wall are 4 x members and I have backed each
panel joint with double 2 x members which will more that
sufficiently transfer the diaphram nailing to the framework.
Shear wall B, I have sheathed on both sides with the proper
nailing.
