reason: (Sec. 7031.5,Business and Professions Code: Any city or county which requires a
permit to construct, rafter, improve, demolish, or repair any structure, prior to its issuance also
requires the applicant for such permit to file a signed statement that he is licensed pursuant to
the provisions of the Contractor's License Law, Chapter 9 (commencing with Section 7000) of
Division 3 of the Business and Professions Code, or that. he is exempt therefrom, and the basis
for the alleged exemption. Any violation of Section 7031.5 by any applicant for a permit
subjects the applicant to a civil penaltyof not more than five hundred dollars (S500).

Dear Mr. Jones:
Please accept this letter as written confirmation that your recent permit extension request letter for
building permit #14106 has been granted.
The 1994 Uniform Building Code Section 106.4.4 allows the building official to extend any
unexpired permit when the permittee is unable to continue work within the time required by this
section for good and satisfactory reason. ' This Section requires an inspection be performed within
180 days of this extension or the permit would then expire by limitation. This means you must pass
the next required inspection for your project bycURober K996%Please be aware that this section
also clearly states "no permit shall be extended more than once."
Should the progress of the project not be.continued.in accordance with Section 106, the permit
would expire by limitation. No further work would be allowed at that time until a new permit was

The purpose of this letter is to inform you that your Single Family Dwelling Permit 14106, for
the project at 51-475 Avenida Ramirez, has expired. In accordance with 1994 UBC section
106.4.4, no further work may be performed until a new permit has been issued.

information you need regarding a new permit and/or any required inspections. Should you
choose not to complete the project, we would then have. to pursue any or all of the following
actions:
