GENERAL NOTES
1) All construction shall comply with the 2010 California Residential, Mechanical, Electrical, PI imbing, Energy,
and Green Building Codes and the La Quinta Municipal Code." Remove notes referencing o -her Codes.
2) All 'or equal' substitutions must be submitted to, and approved by the Building Official prior to installation of
the item.
3)_ Dryer exhaust duct, not less than 4 inches in diameter, shall have a smooth interior surface a back -draft
damper, and shall terminate outside of the building. (CMC §504.3.1, 504.3.2, 504.3.2.1)
.4) Dryer exhaust ducts shall nof exceed a total combined horizontal and vertical length of 14 feet, including two
90 -degree elbows. Two feet shall be deducted for each 907degree elbow in excess of two. (---MC §504.3.2.2)
Provide a detail demonstrating compliance. Otherwise, provide a design (calculations) by a licensed engineer,
for consideration as an alternate method of construction. (CMC §105)
5) No standpipe receptor for any clothes washer shall extend more than thirty (30) inches, nor less than eighteen
(18) inches above its trap. No trap for any clothes washer standpipe receptor shall be instal ed below the floor,.
but shall be roughed in not less than six (6) inches and not more than eighteen (18) inches above.the floor.

6) All plumbing fixtures and drains used to receive liquid wastes or sewage, shall be connected properly to the
drainage system of the building in accordance with.the California Plumbing Code. (CPC §304)'
7) Each vent shall rise vertically to a point not less than six (6) inches above the flood -level rim of the fixture
served before offsetting horizontally and terminate twelve (12) inches above the finished roof. (CPC §905.3)
8) Installation of a Water Heater in a Residential Garage shall be protected so it is not subject -=o physical damage
by a moving vehicle. Provide permanent, substantial protection for proposed water heater. (CPC §508.14(2))
9) Provide at least one 20 -ampere branch circuit to serve laundry appliances. Such circuit(s) shall have no other
outlets. (CEC §210.11(C)(2); 210.52(F))
10) Specify GFCI protection for receptacles in garage. (CEC §210.8(A)(2))
11) Provide at least one receptacle outlet for the laundry. (CEC §210.11(C)(2) & 210.52(F))
12) Provide pressure regulator for water service where static pressure exceeds 80 psi." (CPC §6)8.2)
13) Provide a combination pressure and temperature relief valve at all water heaters, set to open at not more
than 150 psi. Drain pipe shall extend to outside of building and terminate not.more than 2 feet nor less than 6
inches above the ground and point downward with the end unobstructed. Any other termination location shall
require approval by the Building Official. (CPC §608.3, 608.4, 608.5)
