PCRES 2001-035A Walgreens SP 2000-045 DenialPLANNING COMMISSION RESOLUTION 2001-.035A A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LA QUINTA, CALIFORNIA, RECOMMENDING TO THE CITY COUNCIL DENIAL OF DESIGN GUIDELINES AND DEVELOPMENT STANDARDS FORA 14,490 SQUARE FOOT DRUG STORE AND TWO OFFICE BUILDINGS AT THE SOUTHEAST CORNER OF WASHINGTON STREET AND AVENUE 50. CASE NO.: SPECIFIC PLAN 2000-045 APPLICANT: EVERGREEN LA QUINTA LIMITED PARTNERSHIP WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of La Quinta, California, did on the 27th day of March, 2001, hold a duly noticed Public Hearing for the La Quinta Promenade project for review of a Specific Plan to establish design guidelines and development standards fora 14,490 square foot Walgreens and two office buildings at the southeast corner of Washington Street and Avenue 50, more particularly described as: APN 769-040-016 WHEREAS, at said public hearing, upon hearing and considering Environmental Assessment 2000-396, and all testimony and arguments, if any, of all interested persons wanting to be heard, said Planning Commission did make the following mandatory findings recommending denial of said Specific Plan: 1 . The proposed Specific Plan is not consistent with the goals and policies of the La Quinta General Plan Land Use Map and is not a compatible use with the surrounding residential development. 2. The proposed Specific Plan is not compatible with the City's Zoning Ordinance in that the use is inconsistent with the surrounding development. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Planning Commission of the City of La Quinta, California, as follows: That the above recitations are true and constitute the findings of the Planning Commission in this case; 2.
