In response to the city's concern regarding mechanical equipment on top of garage roof we have
analyzed the roof for each plan and determined that rafters spanning 10 feet or less can support
mechanical equipment of 815 lbs. For rafters spanning 10 feet or more double -2x10 rafters shall
be provided to support 815 lbs. of mechanical equipment.

garage on plan 2. are capable of supporting the roof mounted mechanical equipment (815 lbs.).
For plan 1 an additional 2x10 rafter shall be framed in between the already existing 2x10 rafters
at 24" o/c directly under the roof mounted mechanical equipment (815 lbs.)

In response to the city's concern regarding mechanical equipment on top of the garage roof we
have analyzed the roof for each plan and determined that the 2x10 rafters at 24" o/c over the
garage on plan 2. are capable of supporting the roof mounted mechanical equipment (815 lbs.).
For plan 1 an additional 2x10 rafter shall be framed in between the already existing 2x10 rafters
at 24" o/c directly under the roof mounted mechanical equipment (815 lbs.)
