Everest Solar Systems meets these requirements on the CrossRail system by incorporating the Everest Solar Rail Connector Set and the successfully tested Burndy WEEB KMC and WEEB Lug 8.0. The CrossRail 48 Rail Connector Set and the CrossRail 80 -Rail Connector Set is ETL listed to LIL 467, if used and installed with Everest Solar Systems racking systems as described in this manual and under the following conditions: the torque complies with the values given in this .manual, non -anodized aluminum is used and the maximum conductor size of the system is AWG 6. Please continue to.step 4 of this manu- al for instructions to install the Rail Connector. Refer to the Burndy Installation Manual to review how the WEEB•KMC and WEEB Lug 8.0 are to be used in con- junction with the Everest Solar CrossRail system. M0. ; e. n +w,, t { t r Installation of CrossRail System s 113 INSTALLATION OF THE ROOF , ATTACHMENT Select and install the chosen and appropriate roof attachment product according to the manufacturers' instructions e.g. Quickmount Pv Composition mount. Usually a connection to the roof structure e.g. the rafters is necessary.. Ensure the waterproofness of the roof obser- ving all, applicable laws, regulations, ordinances and codes. Make sure the attachments points are in the right position according to your structural calculations for the CrossRail system. Materials required: appropriate roof attachment product F L -FOOT INSTALLATION Place the L -Foot on top of the roof attachment with the long leg of the foot facing the roof ridge and tighten the attachment fixtures according to the manufacturer's instructions through the round hole of the L -Foot. J Y• _ (I CROSSRAIL INSTALLATION Place the CrossRail on the'side of the L -Foot facing the roof ridge. Insert the T -Bolt through the slot hole of the foot into the lateral channel of the rail. Turn the T -Bolt clockwise ma- king sure that the groove mark on the top end of the T -bolt is upstanding. Put the appropriate self-locking nut onto the T -Bolt, adjust the height of the rail and tighten the nut with a torque wrench using a torque 25.8 Ibf-ft (35Nm) for M10, 11.8 Ibf-ft (16 Nm) for M8. Make sure that the top of the CrossRail is located above the top of the L -Foot. Check once more if the groove mark on the top end of the T -Bolt is up- standing. Otherwise disassemble and repeat this installation step. Due to thermal expansion, we recommend to break the rows after (20 m), however, no further than (24.4 m). The minimum spacing for separation between the two K2 rails is 1,25" to 2" (3-5 cm). When installed per the conditions and design criteria described herein, the CrossRail,,Solar PV Mounting System is compliant with the sections of the design reference documents noted below. Design Reference Documents o 2013 Triennial Edition of Title 24, California Code of Regulations Based on 2012 International Building Code & 2012 International Residential Code o ASCE/SEI 7-10 - Minimum Design Loads for Buildings and Other Structures 0 2010 Aluminum Design Manual, by the Aluminum Association o Section and materials data provided by Everest Solar Systems ■ Rail section properties appear in Table 25 of this report Overview The CrossRail PV -panel roof mounting system consists of extruded aluminum support rails, module clamps, attachments, and fasteners spanning between points of attachment on an existing roof structure. Attachment of the CrossRail Mounting System to the existing roof structure shall be the responsibility of the installer, and should be analyzed by a registered design professional where required by the local authority having jurisdiction. r Methods & Design Parameters Applicable combinations of dead, wind, and snow loads were evaluated in accordance with current code requirements to determine allowable rail span lengths, based on assumptions of single -span conditions and allowable deflection of L/120. Design wind pressures were determined using Components and Cladding calculations in Chapter 26-30 of ASCE 7-10, using the loading parameters listed below. Configurations not conforming to these parameters will require additional analysis. Calculation of applicable roof snow load should be based upon ground snow load maps and equations and factors of ASCE 7-10, Chapter 7 and momentSTRUCPURAL ENGINEERING GROUP, LLC. 10530 Warwick Ave, Suite CS 0 Fairfax, VA 22030 • Phone: 703-998-2350& Web: www.msegllc.com CROSSRAIL MOUNTING SYSTEM EVALUATION CIR 140130CA 10:112 Jan 30, 2013 • PAGE 2 OF 3 applicable sections of the 2013 CBC. For designated Case Study areas noted in the 2013 Triennial Edition of Title 24, California Code of Regulations, refer to local jurisdiction requirements for snow and wind load determination. Seismic criteria were not considered per provisions of ASCE 7-10 Section 13.1.4. r Loading Parameters: o Ground snow load: Varies o Ultimate 3 -second gust wind speed M = 110-170 mph o Building roof mean height: 30 fL or less o Roof wind pressure region: Zone 1- Zone 3 o Structural risk category: 11 o Wind exposure: B, C, D o Panel orientation: Portrait or Landscape o Panel installation angle: Flush with roof slope o Roof slope (6): Varies Design Results The allowable span lengths of the system are principally controlled by applicable wind (speed, exposure, pressure zone) and snow loads to the structure. Refer to the CrossRail span tables in the appendix to this document for recommended rail configurations based on combinations of these. loading parameters. The reaction loads provided in the attached tables are only applicable when used with the span length recommendations provided herein. Installation Notes The following guidelines apply to all installations using the CrossRail product line: o Tables assume two independent support rails per panel with portrait orientation, or shared intermediate rails with panels in landscape orientation. • Maximum end cantilever of aluminum support rail shall not exceed one-third (1/3) of r; allowable span in the roof wind pressure zone of the cantilever • Rails shall be continuous (not spliced) over a minimum of two supports • installations over roof overhangs or within 10" of any roof edge is not advised • Observe all local jurisdictional requirements regarding roof setback requirements moment STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING GROUP, LLC. 10530 Warwick Ave, Suite C5 • Fairfax, VA 22030 • Phone: 703-988-23500 Web: www.mseglic.com So/ar M4X SOLAR MAX RENEWABLE ENERGY PROVIDER INC 308012TH STREET, RIVERSIDE, CA 92507 TEL(951)300-0788 FAX: (951)213-3099 CLASS # C46 LIC # 972048 CONFDENBAL - THE IQ'ORYATIOI HUM CONTAINED SHALL NOT BE USED FOR THE 8044 OF ANYONE D:CEPT SOIAIMAX RENEWABLE ENERGY PR00W NC., NOR SHALL n BE OSGI.M N *1 LE OR N PART TO OTHERS OUTSIDE THE RECIPIENTS ORGANIZATION.
