Tests were performed at random locations, i n accordance with ASTM D 2922-81 and ASTM D .3017-78 Nuclear Density Test Procedure. A total of four (4; density tests were .performed. Test results indicate that a minimum of ninety (90) percent relative compaction ha been obtained within the areas tested. Prior to our arrival at the site, pad grade had been made and readied for testing. 3. We did not observe if the fill material placed on this project was placed as mandated by U.B.C. requirements in Chapter 29, Section 2903(a) or Chapter 70, Section 7010(c) & (d). 4. The purpose of testing was to observe compliance with tie minimum requirements of the City of La Quinta, California. LiMITATiONS This firm did not perform a soils investigation, did not conduct any tests to determine the general condition, adequacy or stability of sails on the property, nor did it observe the filling or compacting operations, which were already completed at the time our personnel were called to the site. The only services performed were the specific 'moisture and density tests summarized in this report. These test results provide oily limited° information about the surface materials observed at the locations and depth; tested and cannot be relied upon for information about subsurface conditions or compaction, or to determine the appropriateness of any design or construction of improvements on the site. No inspection wasmade of the contractor's work and no guaranty or warranty is made or implie=d. The test locations are approximate and were determined by pacing and sighting from prominent field features. In our work, we have relied on topographic and surveying information provided by others. Our field testing was performed after the grading operations were accomplished. With any manufactured product there are statistical variations in its uniformity and in the accuracy of -tests used to measure its quality. As compared with other manufactured products, field construction usually presents large statistical variations in its uniformity. and accuracy of test results used to measure its quality. Thus, even with very careful observation and testing, it cannot. be said that all parts of the product comply with the job requirements and the degree of. certainty is greater with full-time observation during grading rather than testing a -ter grading operations have been performed. Therefore, our opinion, based on testing the work means that there is only a statistically -based probability that the densities obtained comply with the job requirements. BUENA ENGINEERS, INC.
