Thank you for taking the time to address my problem. Yourself and your colleagues in the Build-
ing and Safety Department were tremendous in helping me understand the scope of the owners
obligation in obtaining a permit for the additional room.
As you know, my wife, Tiffany and I are currently in the third week of our thirty day escrow to buy
the above property from the current owners, Mr: and Mrs. Siri. Due to the City of La Quinta's
untimely case, against Mr. and Mrs. Siri, to obtain the proper permit for the additional room, my
wife and I will not be able to close escrow. This jeopardizes our time, effort and, most impor-
tantly, deposits and other moneys involved in a property purchase.
I'm writing this letter to you, and the City of La Quinta, Building and Safety Department, to make
record that my wife, Tiffany Topor and myself, Todd Topor (buyers in Escow), would like to take
full responsibility of obtaining the permits needed to make the additional room in code compli-
ance, once escrow has closed. This will relieve Mr. and Mrs. Siri's obligation to the City of La
Quinta to obtain a permit, thus allowing our escrow to continue and close at the end of Septem-
ber.
Thanks again, to you and your colleagues, for helping me navigate through my grey hair situa-

Since it is so difficult for us to speak via telephone, I decided to
send this letter regarding the subject prope:cty.
You were kind enough to meet with Mike rsonto�ra and provide him with
the attached copy of the PERP4IT filed in 1982 for Sybil Jaffy the
then owner. The city collected monies for ttie permit, including
money for the PLAN CHECK.
This addition was simply adding a sitting room off one of the bedy-
rooms. There is no closet in this addition, and there is adequate
egress. Attached are two pages of plan:s.fct this room, showing
outlets,windows, and slider. During your meeting t•:ith Mr.Montoya
you said you could not inspect the room last week.
The owners, Mr. & Mrs. Siri, are elderly and are out of State. They
have sold the home to Mr. & Mrs. Topor, who have had the home inspected
and do not care about this sitting room. Also, it was NOT Mr. Topor
who visited the City inquiring about this rc�om.

Since the City collected a fee for Plan Check and issued a permit for
this room, the Siri's would like to request that someone call to set
up an appointment to view this "AS BUILT" s_.tting room. Since this
happened in 1982, do you think the City cou:-d have misplaced the plans??
