The all-new exterior design, with pleasing silver sage and jade exte- rior, blends well with plants and shrubbery. SEER ratings to 10.55 when used with components as designated by manu- facturer. ' FEATURES HIGH EFFICIENCY—High energy. efficiency is obtained by siz- ing the heat transfer surface and using the best components available to create a system that provides the most cooling out- put for the least energy input. The 568D is a high -efficiency, full line of condensing units built specifically for the energy - conscious consumer. WEATHER -PROTECTIVE CABINET—Steel is protected with a heavy coating commonly called "galvanizing," then coated with a layer of zinc phosphate to which a coat of alkyd melamine enamel is applied and baked -on. This provides each unit with a hard, smooth finish that will last for many years. All screws on the cabinet exterior are stainless steel for a long-lasting, rust - resistant, quality appearance. TOTALLY ENCLOSED FAN MOTOR—Means greater reliability ,under rain and snow conditions, and dependable performance for many years. Permanent -split -capacitor -type motors promote more economical operation. UNIT DESIGN—The large wrap-around condenser coil is designed for. optimum heat transfer. Vertical air discharge car- ries sound and hot condenser air up and away from adjacent patio areas and foliage. Electrical controls are near top of unit for easy access during installation and servicing. The condenser fan motor can be removed with the top cover when servicing is required. A 3/8 -inch space is provided between rows of com- posite coils to permit cleaning with a common garden hose. A divider panel is installed between compressor and coil section, so unit can be checked and serviced while operating. EXTERNAL SERVICE VALVES—The service valves are brass and are externally located so refrigerant tube connections can be made quickly and easily. Each valve has a service port for ease of checking operating refrigerant pressures. EASY SERVICEABILITY—One access panel provides access to the electrical controls and compressor J -box. Removal of the top gives access to the coil and removal of the corner panel gives complete access to the compressor and coil return bends. COMPRESSOR PROTECTION—Each compressor is protected with temperature- and current -sensitive overloads. An internal pressure relief valve provides high-pressure protection to the refrigerant system. . STANDARD EQUIPMENT—An impressive array of equipment standard on every 568D includes a crankcase heater with ther- mostatic control, a fully insulated compressor compartment, a low-pressure switch, a filter -drier,. compressor hard -start com- ponents, and external brass refrigerant valves. I PRELIMINARY PRODUCT DATA NOTE: Use the information in this publication for preliminary reference only. DOWNFLOW HORIZONTAL A unique induced -draft design, a new four -pass heat exchanger, the first inshot burner system available in a mass -production downflow/horizontal furnace, and exclusive safety features; the FORMULA 2000" High -Efficiency Downflow/Horizontal Fur- nace is without peer. It is indeed the new industry_ pacesetter. The Model 375A FORMULA 2000' achieves the highest Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency (AFUE) rating available today in a noncondensing downflow/horizontal furnace. Its ease and ecomony of installation, truly remarkable serviceability, surpris- ingly economical initial cost and short payback time, place it in a class by itself. All these make the FORMULA 2000' the obvi- ous choice over any other high -efficiency furnace. This furnace has the kind of overall performance. that others will be trying to imitate for years to come. The Model 375A Downflow/Horizontal FORMULA 2000' joins our Model 397H Upflow FORMULA 1000- to cover all bases in the high -efficiency marketplace. Application flexibility is a tre- mendous plus. FORMULA 2000 satisfies downflow applications standing straight up. Lying on either side, FORMULA 2000 satisfies hori- zontal -left and horizontal -right airflow applications. FEATURES VENTING—The FORMULA 2000" Induced -Draft Furnace oper- ates at zero or slightly negative static pressure at the furnace -to - flue junction; therefore, it can be vented into any approved chimney or 61 vent, and like a natural -draft furnace, common - vented with an existing water heater. All other currently available induced -draft or forced -draft furnaces require installing an expensive pressure -tight, gas-tight, sealed -vent system. The induced -draft design also eliminates the need for a vent damper. MONOPORT INSHOT BURNERS—Produce more precise air -to-' gas mixture which burns cleaner than multiport or ribbon -type burners. The larger monoport of the inshot (or injection -type) burner seldom, if ever, clogs or needs cleaning. FOUR -PASS HEAT EXCHANGER—Design breakthrough pro- duces accelerated heat transfer. FORMULA 2000' Furnaces extract heat that other furnaces waste up the flue. Aluminized for corrosion resistance, 20 -year limited warranty. SAFEST FURNACE—FORMULA 2000- goes beyond most other furnaces with two exclusive safety features: (1) a draft safeguard switch detects a flue blockage or downdraft and (2) a pressure switch proves combustion airflow before burner igni- tion. SOLID-STATE BLOWER CONTROL OFF -TIMING ADJUST- ABLE—By turning a knob. Timed blower operation stops annoy- ing recycling common with thermally activated blower controls. PRINTED -CIRCUIT CONTROL CENTER—The printed -circuit board and all internal wiring are factory installed. Screw termi- nals permit quick -connecting a humidifier, an air cleaner, and air- conditioning control circuits. WRAPAROUND INSULATED CASING—Welded construction eliminates casing noise. Foil -faced insulation in the heat exchanger section cuts heat loss and double-density insulation in the blower section reduces noise levels. The low profile makes the FORMULA 2000" a slide -in unit—ideal for downflow or horizontal replacement installations. The design of all FORMULA 2000" units is A.G.A. certified • I Form No. PDS 375A.40.1 D GF -7 0 0 0 0 L 40 ib.__.
