It is apparent that this project, started in September of 1991 is not going to be completed. We
believe that the City's Building and Safety,and Code Compliance Divisions have extended .you
every opportunity to complete the project. Please be advised that as of today, July 2, 1998, I have
turned this file over to. the City of La Quinta Code Compliance Division to begin abatement.,
proceedings. Please also note. that as the permit is expired, no further work of any kind may, be
performed at this project.

Please accept this as an update to your request for an itemized list of things which would need to
be completed in order to sign off the framing inspection at 51-285 Calle Paloma.
Our field inspector did go to the job site on January 9, 1996, and his findings were as follows:
Rough Electrical not completed.
Rough Mechanical not completed.
Plumbing top out not completed.
Fireplace and Chimney not installed.
A more detailed list could not be provided as to the incompleteness of the work. The above items
in addition to the structural framework are the minimums required to proceed to the next stage,
which would be the installation of insulation.
As you are aware from our correspondence dated December 12, 1995, your building permit was
to expire on January 24, 1996 if the framing were not completed. Due to the date of this letter, we
will allow you until February 7, 1996 to pass this inspection. If for any reason the framing
inspection is not signed off, your permit will be considered void, and we will begin the abatement
proceeding.

We are writing this letter to request an extension on our building permit.
Since the purchase of our last building permit we have made much
progress on our property at 51285 Paloma. We have plastered the house,
drywalled all the inside walls, put in all kitchen cupboards and all shower
units, poured the patio under the overhang, purchased all the doors and have
begun to plaster the inside walls.
We are continually working on the house and we spend every day at the site
pouring our heart and souls into making this home a reality for our family.
We realize this home seems like an endless endeavor but we are proud to be
able to say we built this home with our own hands.
We are as anxious as you for a completion date and our hope would be to
be in the house by Thanksgiving. We certainly would have plenty to be
thankful for.
We have appreciated your patience with this project and hope you will
consider our request for an extension.
