TRAFFIC SAFETY COMMITTEE
January 12, 1984
4:00 P.M.
MEETING MINUTES
Members Present: Chairman Bund, Martin Beck, Doug Broom, Larry Allen and
Sandy Bonner
Absent: George Conroy, Warren Stallard and Al Cablay
Meeting called to order at 4:15 P.M. by Chairman Bund.
Discussion on membership of committee. Announcements are out and posted for a
replacement for John Burns.
Lt. Conroy of the Riverside County Sheriff's Office will be going to graveyard
shift in January and Lt. Mike Lewis will be taking his place. Lt. Lewis could
not attend today due to the Bob Hope Golf Classic.
Discussion on creating a single monthly meeting in lieu of two monthly meetings.
This might stimulate attendance.
Discussion on street wear-and-tear on corners. Some solutions are being explores
Martin Beck brought up the matter of the signal at Eisenhower and Washington.
Discussion on traffic study and a variety of pending problems (i.e. Eisenhower
and Washington.)
Discussion on street planning, improvements, assessment districts, right-of-way
widths and associated problems in the cove.
Discussion on Landmark project near Lake Cahuilla. A tour of the site will
be conducted on 1-21-84 at 9:00 a.m. Three members of the Traffic Safety
Committee will be attending.
Discussion on C.D.B.G. Funds -will not be available for intersection street
lighting.
Street lighting should be incorporated into the report to the City Council.
Federal funding for such things as street lighting and traffic signals is
under study by staff.
Discussion on re-striping and legend repainting.
Meeting adjourned at 5:32 p.m.
