A RESOLUTION OF THE LA QUINTA REDEVELOPMENT
AGENCY OF THE CITY OF LA QUINTA CALIFORNIA
MAKING CERTAIN FINDINGS PURSUANT TO HEALTH AND
SAFETY CODE SECTION 33445 AND AUTHORIZING THE
EXPENDITURE OF FUNDS TO PURCHASE A TAX-
DEFAULTED PROPERTY FROM THE RIVERSIDE COUNTY
TREASURER-TAX COLLECTOR
WHEREAS, the parcel (APN 770-152-007) is located in La Quinta
Redevelopment Project Area No. 1 (the "Project Area"1; and
WHEREAS, the purchase and improvement of the parcel would afford the
Redevelopment Agency the opportunity to address the blighting conditions; and
WHEREAS, there is inadequate funding within the City's General Fund or from
other sources to purchase the parcel or to construct the public improvements on the
parcel, which improvements will improve the appearance of the area and will enhance
pedestrian access within the Village; and
WHEREAS, it would be in the best interest of the public for the City to purchase
the property and to improve the property.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the La Quinta Redevelopment Agency
of the City of La Quinta, California, as follows:
SECTION 1. The above recitals are true and correct and are adopted as the findings of
the Agency Board.
SECTION 2. The Agency Board hereby authorizes Agency funding to be utilized for
the purchase of the property from the Riverside County Treasurer-Tax Collector.
SECTION 3. Pursuant to Health and Safety Code Section 33445, the Agency finds and
determines that:
A. The purchase of the property and its improvement will be a direct benefit to the
Project Area and to the immediate neighborhoods in which the property is
located. The benefits include improvement of pedestrian access within the
Village and the beautification of the area.
B. No other reasonable means of financing the purchase and development of the
property is available to the community.

C. The purchase and improvement of the property will assist in the elimination of
one or more blighting conditions inside the Project Area, and is consistent with
the Redevelopment Agency's implementation plan adopted pursuant to Section
33490.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the La Quinta
Redevelopment Agency held on this 18`" day of January 201 1, by the following vote:
