1. The f'aihricator has developed and submitted adetailed fabrication procedural
manual rellecting key quality control procedures which will provide a basis for in-
spection control of workmanship and the fabricator plant.
2. verification ol'the fabricator's quality control capabilities, plant and person-
nc�l a-Srn.ttIined in the fabrication procedural manual shall be by an approved inspec-
tion or quality control agency.
3. Periodic plant inspections shall be conducted by an approved inspection or
clullity control agency to monitor the effectiveness of the quality control prograin.
4. It shall he the responsibility of the inspection or quality control agency to
notify the �ipproving authority in writing of any chance to the procedural manual.
Any fabricator approval may be rc:volced for just cause. Reapproval of the fabrica-
tor shall be contingent on compliance with quality control procedures during the
past year.
Structural Observation
See. 3107. Structural observation shall be provided in, Seismic Zone No, 3 or
when one of the following conditions exists:
1. The structure is defined in Table No. 23-K as Occupancy Category 1,11 or 111,
or
2. The structure is required to comply with Section 1807, or
.1. Construction inspection as defined in Section 302 (c), Item 2, is required, or
4. When such observation is specifically required by the building official.
k The owner shall employ the engineer or architect responsible for the structural
ii} design, or another enginc;er or architect dttsignated by the engineer or architect re-
sponsihle for the structural design to perform structural observation as defined in
Section 420. The engineer -or architect shall Submit a statement in writing to the
building, official stating that the site visits have been made and whether or not any
Observed deficiencies have been corrected to conform to the approved plans and
specifications, or to revised details approved by the building official.
Certificate of Occupancy
Sec. 308. (a) Use and Occupancy. No building or structure shall be used or oc-
cupicd, and no change in the existing occupancy classification of a building or
structure or portion thereof shall be made until the building official has issued a
Certificate of Occupancy therefor as provided herein.
EXCEPTION: Group R, Division 3 and Group M Occupancies.
ISSUMICC of a Certificate of Occupancy shall not be construed as an approval of a
vio,latioh of the provisions of this code or of other ordinances of the jurisdiction.
C'enificates presuming to give authority to violate or cancel the provisions of this

Please note the following : Truss drawings as Prepared by Sates manufacture are in substantial
compliance with the Construction documents. The addition of an additional shear (drag) truss (P-1)
has been added as a result of my earlier review. In addition there are shear transfer details that must be
part of the truss details. I have attached those details along with this letter If you have any questions
please call .
All trusses are to be Installed as per Mfg. recommended installation recommendations and industry
standards for excellence, All work and installations are to be done in a professional like manner. Any
and all revisions to the plans and or trusses must be reported to the Architect as soon as possible for
review and comment.
The General Contractor is responsible for conforming to the above comments and is ultimately
responsible for the work to meet all applicable codes and ordinances whether or not shown on the shop

Regarding': Sunlite Development, Lot 13, Citrus Estates
As required by the City of La Quinta, I am agreeing to providing on site structural observations as per
1991 UBC Section 3107 for the above stated project site.
The owner agrees to pay the Architect an extra serivice on a time and materials fee basis for proividing
the above services. The Owner agrees to notify the Architect a min. of 24 hours prior to any necessary
progress observations. The following is a list of the minimum structural observations required to
comply with the UBC code requirements :
1. Site preperations and compaction
2. Foundation forms, hardware and membranes.
3. Shop drawing reviews.
4. Structural framing, shear walls and diaphrams.
The Owner will receive a written report of the observations and a copy of such report will be forwarded to
the City as well. The General Contractor ls,responsible for compling with all comments noted in the
observations and the Architect will not agree to Certify the sturcture unless all corrections and
modifications are complied with complete in every way.
