To Whom It May Concern,
A field observation and design check of the subject property was conducted to
determine the suitability of the existing roof structure to support the installation of
solar panels.
From the field observation of the property, the existing roof structure was
observed as follows:
The existing roof structure consists of concrete s tiles over plywood sheathing
that is supported by 2x4 roof trusses spaced at 24" on center. The top chords of
the trusses are sloped at approximately 22 degrees and have a maximum
A projected horizontal span of 6'-11" between truss web members.
Utilizing the information determined from the field observation, the attached
structural calculations have been prepared for the subject property in accordance
with the following design criteria:
• Applicable Codes: 2013 CBC, ASCE 7-10 and 2012 NDS
• Basic Wind Speed= 110 mph
_ Exposure Category = B
As a result of the completed field observation and design check, I certify that the
capacity of the existing roof structure that directly supports the additional loading
due to the installation of solar panel supports and modules has been reviewed
and determined to meet or exceed the requirements of the 2013 California
Building Code.
