In accordance with your request, we visited the jobsite on November 23, 1994. In general,
the framing looked good with the following exceptions:
1. In areas where there is a high -heel truss directly above a shear wall, or in line with a
shear wall, install truss blocking with boundary nailing through the roof sheathing and
boundary nailing or A35's to top plate/beam to get the correct shear transfer from the
roof sheathing to the top plate. Locations where this situation occurs include the rear
of the,house above and in line with the moment resisting frames, the guest house, and
various'other locations as discussed with the framer and superintendent.
2. Install nails on' hanger on drag truss in dining room as discussed.
3. Offset shear/girder truss over the back of the garage shear wall must be blocked and
A35'd as necessary to obtain the proper shear transfer to the shear wall below.
4. Holdown at #11 shear wall at front of house (in line with garage) near tower is installed
on the wrong post. Shear over to post per our discussion.
5. Install A35's at golfcart garage front. Also as discussed, install strap at the gap to drag
shear from this portion of roof back to the garage front shear walls.
