Seepage pits encountered at the site may be filled with select backfill material
such as pea gravel or other material approved in the field by the soils engineer.
The backfill material should be densified by thorough flooding or jetting or
through the use vF vibratory compaction 'equipment. The seepage should be
demolished to'a depth o- at least 5 feet below;ythe proposed final subgrade
elevations, infilled with select granular material, the backfill densified,
and the pit capped with concrete. A zone of properly compacted uniform soil
at least 5 feet thick, should then be placed and compacted in thin horizontal
lifts over the infilled capped pit.
Septic tanks in the structure areas should belInfilled completely with lean
concrete (3 -sack mix), vibrated or rodded as rldcessary to fill all voids or
gaps around the baffles, etc., then capped wit and a minimum of
'5 feet of compacted fill soil placed over the f tank.
