NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of La Quinta City Council will hold a
PUBLIC HEARINGon June 20, 2017 at 5:00 p.m. In the La Quinta City Hall
Council Chambers, 78.495 Calle Tampico, La Quinta, California, on the follow-
ing item:
THE FISCAL YEAR 2017/2018 ANNUAL ASSESSMENT FOR
LANDSCAPE AND LIGHTING ASSESSMENT DISTRICT 89-1
Maintenance of landscape improvements in roadways and drainage facilities is
a very important servke In our community. Landscaping. If well malntalned,
provides beautification and enhancement to the surroundings, along with a
positive effect on property values.
At the Public Meeting, City staff will present the proposed asserament levy and
will accept questions thereon. At the Public Hearing, the City Council will hear
comments In support of and protests against the annual levy prior to acting on
the levy of assessments for Fiscal Year 2017!2018, Any property owner may mail
a protest against the assessment to the City of Uaulnta, Steve Hewlett, Facill-
tles Director, 78.495 Cape Tampico, La QSiinta, CA 92253.
The annual assessments generated by the existing 1972 Act City of La Quinta
Landscaping and Lighting District will fund the cost of.providing installation,
servicing, maintenance, and operation of landscaping, lighting and appurten-
ant facilities within the City of La Quinta that are exempt under provisions of
Proposition 218 voted in by the California residents during the November 1996
election.
In the City's efforts to camp! with the requiremants of Title It of the Americans
With Disabilities Act Of IM the City Manager's Department requires that any
person In need of any type of special equipment, assistance or
accommodations) in order to communicate at a Cltyy public meeting, must in-
form the City Manager's Departmem a minimum of 72 hours prior to the sched-
uled meeting.
