Ref: Geotechnical Engineering Report, PGA West - 5th Golf Course, prepared by

As requested by your designer, Borm Associates, this letter serves as an addendum to our soils
engineering update, dated October 30, 1998. The additional information requested follows in
this report. We understarid you are proposing to develop the site with 76 single-family buildings
of typical design. We assume that the buildings will be single -story, wood -frame, with concrete
slab -on -grade construction.
Seismic Design Criteria
This site is subject to strong ground shaking due to potential fault movements along the San.
Andreas and San Jacinto Faults. Engineered design and earthquake *resistant construction are the
common solutions to increase safety and development of seismic areas. The minimum seismic
design should comply with the latest edition of the Uniform.Building Code for Seismic Zone 4
using the seismic coefficients given in the table below. -
