Due to inial grading decisions related to the pad elevation, the handicap access
walkway off of Winged Foot is not achievable as originally designed by our firm in 1999.
The Winged Foot access into the recreation area will remain as shown, and will
include steps with required handrails. The handicap access into the recreation area is
being added to the Spanish Bay side of the project, where grade elevations permit a more
flat transition.
Gates in both locations will be self-closing and all code requirements will be

provided.
Added benefits to locating the handicap access off of Spanish Bay include:
A. Reduced vehicular traffic volume on Spanish Bay as compared -to Winged Foot.
B. No conflict with golf cart path which runs along Winged,F ot.
C. A second recreation area exit location increases the ability for the site to be
vacated in the event of an emergency or the malfurftetion of one gate.
