THE MADISON CLUB PRIVATE EVENT. — CHARITY FUNDRAISER
Dear Mr. Buckman:
The Planning Department has reviewed and approved. your request to hold a private
event/charity fundraiser at The Madison Club. The approval of the event is granted under
Section 9.100.130 of the La Quinta Zoning Code subject to the following.Conditions and
Findings:
FINDINGS:
1. The event will not be detrimental to the.health, safety' and general welfare of the
community in the area of the proposed event: The Fire Marshal has. given
clearance. regarding access and circulation within the proposed event area.
2. There is adequate area to conduct the events and to accommodate the
anticipated attendance, provided all conditions of•approval and the approved site
plan -are. complied with.
3: Sufficient .parking will be provided for the*anticipated attendance.
4. Public roadways providing access to the events :are capable: of accommodating
the anticipated traffic volumes, in a reasonable. and safe manner with minimal
disruption to local traffic circulation.
CONDITIONS:
1.. The applicant agrees to indemnify, defend and ..hold, harmless the ' Cit'of La
Quinta in the event of any legal. claim or 'litigation arising out of the City's
approval of this project. The City.'of La Quinta shall have the' right to select its

defense counsel in its sole discretion.
2. The event shall be held on January 29, 2012, between 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Vendor and equipment setup shall begin no earlier than. 7:00 a.m. on January
24, 2012. All equipment must be removed, and site restored to prior conditions,
before 7:00 p.m. on February 1, 2012:
3. The applicant shall obtain all other applicable permits, if required, from the
appropriate agencies (i.e. Fire Department, Sheriffs Department, etc.)
4. All vendors shall obtain a City business license from the Finance Department
(760) 777-7036.
5. A building permit shall be obtained if temporary electric facilities or stages are
proposed. The Building and Safety Department can be reached at (760) 777-
7012.
6.The use of amplified equipment' for music presentations is permitted. The
applicant shall comply with the City of La Quint a Noise Ordinance .(LQMC
9.100.210).
7. If portable generators are used for electricity, they shall be shielded to prevent
accidental contact with guests. If extension cords are used, they shall be
ground -secured to prevent tripping.
8. Roadways, parking areas, and pedestrian traffic aisles to other businesses and
activities in the vicinity shall be maintained accessible at all times.
9. The applicant shall coordinate with the Riverside County Sheriff's Department
for any required event coordination, especially - if: the Sheriff's Department
requires any Officer for traffic control prior to and/or.after the event. .
10. Permits for any temporary structures Ce.g. tents exceeding 200 square feet
and/or canopies exceeding 400 square feet), stages. or open flame devices shall
be obtained prior to their installation. Prior to the event set-up, please contact
the La Quinta Building (760) 777-7012, and Safety Department and Riverside
County Fire Safety, Planning and Engineering at (760) 863-8886, for any
additional requirements of the Fire Marshal.. Fire lanes around the event and
within the event parking lot shall be established and/or maintained during the
event.
11. The applicant is prohibited from the use of fireworks during or after the event.
