To Whom It May Concern: This shall serve as confirmation of .inspection of the patio enclosure at 79-869 Hummingbird in La Quinta, California. The patio area enclosed at the back of the house complies with the City setback requirements. The post and beam framework meets the minimum sizing requirements of applicable Building Codes. As the work is complete, the Building Department was unable to verify insulation values, drywall nailing, and rough electrical installations, the work appears to have.been done in a professional manner. A second area enclosed is being used as a bedroom. As the garage opens directly into this room�it is in violation of Section 503 d of the Uniform Building Code 1991. To comply with the code the door is to be removed, framed in, and covered with 5/8" Type X drywall on the garage side. The interior of the wall may be covered with 1/2" drywall. This then shall be fire -taped and any penetrations occurring are to be sleeved in a minimum 26 ga. metal. - The new 1991 code adopted July 1, 1991 requires smoke detectors in all bedrooms.
