The home is approximately fifteen years old and is (61:9) 564-08884 constructed with 2x4 plated trusses (30'-0" maximum span) spaced at 24" on center. The owner will be using a:lightweight tile (9.2 psf) after stripping the existing roof down to the bare plywood diaphragm. The existing compo roof with white stone weighs approximately 4.5 psf and the total dead load is as follows: 2x trusses @ 24" o.c. 2.5 psf 1/2" plywood diaphragm 1.75 psf OCL 4 r, �7Mi' Existing applied roofing: 4.5 Dsf Total 8.75 psf The ceiling load is calc'ed independent as a 10 psf (minimum code) load to the lower chord of the truss. It is my professional opinion that the extra load imposed by the clay tile can be: adequately carried by the truss framing. In addition, the live load designed into all trusses will never be achieved in this climate (especially on a sloped roof).
