Trader Joe's Interior LED Retrofit Project November 2, 2017 City of La Quinta ' Building and Safety Permitting Department To whom it may concern, The following plans and permit application are for a simple fluorescent to LED retrofit project (not a remodel or new construction of any areas). Existing fixtures in the ceiling grid ' of this store (sales floor & stock room) are being retrofitted in place with a LED retrofit kit that utilizes the existing fixture housing. The housings will not be removed; existing wiring to the fixtures will not be changed or disturbed in any way other than to connect power to the LED driver that was formerly connected to the fluorescent ballast. All other fixtures are replacement of existing surface mount fixtures on a strict one-for-one basis. Again, existing wiring in the plenum will not be changed or disturbed.' This project is being completed under the new 50% reduction compliance path (Code 130.1) and-we are reducing the Lighting load in this store by more than 60%. The existing EMS ` system meets Title 24 requirements for Automatic Shut-Off, Manual On/Off, and Override switches for the sales floor and case lighting.
