Please. find enclosed the information promised i.e. CSLB complaint form, and the contractor information for the home at 53-320 Avenida Villa. . As discussed; the rear,portion of the north side .yard wall appears to have been added to;jby ; our records, without permit or inspection. The issue here, is the attachment of new block to " the existing retaining/garden wall.. Chapter 24 in the Uniform Building Code provides for general requirements of construction. However, when for one reason oT another these requirements are not met an Engineer can design a fix for a specific situation, i.e. the attachment to an existing wall. The usual items addressed are the sizing of. footing and steel for the existing wall,. (to determine if it is sufficient to support added wind.load) and the - attachment of new wall to existing wall. In any event; an engineer's design and verification of the method of attachment will be required prior to the City. approving the work. 'As the contractor next door asked if he could add to your wall, and you did give permission - for the work to be done, we feel you will have to•resolve this issue with him.
