Dear Tom,
The following is a list of Structural concerns .from the city inspector with our responses:
1. The top plate above the electrical panel in the hallway next to shear wall 3
receives most of the bearing loads. Therefore, (3)-2x6 plates. above the
electrical panel is adequate. In addition, we've provided 2x6 stud -supports on
'each side of the panel's 2x6 bottom plate and added CS1.6 coil -strap top and
bottom.
2. Shear wall 33 in the dining room only provides lateral resistance for the den.
Therefore, a drag connection to the dining room diaphragm is not required.
3. We've provided 2x6 studs on each side of the bottom 3x6 blocking for
additional support.
