CF -1R Forms (Certificates of Compliance) 3. MF1 Forms (Mandatory Measures Checklist) 4. Title 24 Lighting Requirements 5. Forms 3R (Construction Assemblies) 6. C -2R Forms (Computer Method Summary) 7. Heating and Cooling Calcs INSTRUCTIONS FOR COMPLIANCE DOCUMENTATION These calculations reflect the new 1992 Second Generation Residential Energy Standards. Numerous changes have been incorporated into the new procedures, including the documentation which is required to be incorporated into the plans. To minimize plan check and field problems, the following information should be put on the plans: 1. CF -1R Form (Certificate of Compliance): Each plan must have a CF -1R Form submitted with the calcs, as well as on the drawings. The form, developed by the CEC, summarizes the energy conservation features required for compliance. The CF -1R Form is 3 pages per plan, the third page being a signature page for owner, architect and energy consultant to sign. Though all three sheets for each plan must be submitted with the talcs, we recommend putting only one page for signatures on the plans. This reduces redundancy in signing. Whether the plans must be wet signed or not will vary depending on the building department. 2. MF -1R Form (Mandatory Measures. Checklist): This is a one page checklist of building features that are required of all residential buildings built in California. These must be on the plans as well as in the calcs. 3. A Heating and Cooling Load Summary must be provided. It has been incorporated as the second page of the CF -1R. 4. The convention for Orientation description is as follows: Direction (Clockwise Rotation) Orientation 1: Front to North Orientation 2: Front to East Orientation 3: Front to South Orientation 4: Front to West Azimuth 0 degrees 90 degrees 180 degrees 270 degrees CERTIFICATE OF COMPLIANCE: RESIDENTIAL Page 1 CF -1R Project Title: THE COVE Project Address: LA QUINTA HARLANIEE Documentation Author: Company: R. X Revlsod January 1992 LIGHTING MEASUIZES Installing energy-efficient lamps and fixtures can reduce lighting energy costs without sacrificing the quality or quantity of light available. Kitchen Lighting The Standards require that general lighting in kitchens have.an efficacy of at least 40 lumens per wart and be controlled by the most accessible switch(es) in the kitchen. The light switch location determines how the occupant will use the lighting. Luminaires used only for specific decorative effects (and which are not the only luminaires in the kitchen) need not meet this requiremenL B "A" must be fluoresce it General lighting is lighting designed to provide a uniform level of light distribution throughout a space. This can be achieved by light fixtures in the ceiling or around the perimeter of the room. Lighting fixtures under cabinets may meet the general lighting requirements if they provide uniform light distribution in the kitchen (see Figure 2-11). A luminaire which is the only lighting in a kitchen will be considered general lighting. "A" must be fluorescent All of "C" must be fluorescent "A" or all of "C' must be fluoreseenr Kitchen Lighting Examples Bathroom Lighting The Standards require.that each room containing a water closet must have at least one luminaire with lamps with an efficacy of at least 40 lumens per watt, As an alternative, this requirement may be met by installing the high efficacy luminaire in an adjacent room that has complementary plumbing fixtures. If there is more than one luminaire in the room, the high -efficacy luminaire must be switched at an entrance to the room. "A" must be fluorescuu A Genera! Luminaires installed to meet the 40 lumens per watt requirements cannot contain medium base incandescent lamp sockets, and must be on separate switches from incandescent lighting. All incandescent lighting fixtures recessed into insulated ceilings must be approved for zero -clearance insulation cover (LC.) by Underwriters Laboratories or other testing/rating laboratories recognized by the lntemational Conference of Building Officials (ICBO). Recessed lighting fixtures left unir=lated significantly increase the heat loss and heat gain through the roof/ceiling arra.
