Dear Skip,
The field visit to the residence known as La Paz yielded the following
discrepancies.
1.The door revision at Bathroom 2 where adjacent to Bedroom 2 needs a
holddown "HD -8A" at the new edge of the shear panel where the panel was
reduced in width, provide new holddown
2. All the trusses need plywood across the ends from top plate to top chord
to prevent racking of trusses at all supporting walls, please install sheathing
3. The shear panels have been (incorrectly sheathed with OSB instead of cdx
plywood, but upon review they are acceptable as the structural value of OSB
is adequate
4. The shear transfer from roof diaphragm to shear wall has not been
adequately accomplished at two locations, correction needs to be provided
according to enclosed details
5. Straps are missing at one location where shown on plans, enclosed
marked -up prints show the locations, and the work is to be performed
according to enclosed revised details
6. Numerous locations are missing the "A35" anchors connecting roof
trusses to top plates and/or supporting wall beneath, these must be installed
The city's building inspector may perform the follow-up inspection.
