Please find enclosed .1994 Uniform Building Code Section2506.5 which describes the ' requirements for providing weep screed at exterior walls above concrete flatwork. As indicated, the purpose of the weep screed 'is to allow any trapped water to -drain to the exterior of the . building. Life safety items (such as proper electrical bonding, ground fault -interrupter circuits, and a secure perimeter wall) are the primary concern and focal point.during the inspection process of ,anypool. Additionally, non-structural concrete .(flatwork) on many occasions is incomplete during the final inspection. This may or°may not have been the case during the final approval of your pool, but does not relieve the licensed, contractor from following all of the requirements of the code. Exterior surfaces are weather -exposed surfaces as defined in Section 224. For eave,overhangs required to be fire resistive, see=Section 705. 2506.2 Corrosion.Resistance. All lath and lath attachments shall be of corrosion -resistant mate- rial.'See Section 2501.4. 2506.3 ,Backing. _Backing or a lath;shall provide sufficient rigidity to permit plaster application.
