The following Is a list of items to be covered In the reconstruction of the
damage caused by the fire at 52820 Eisenhower Drive La Quinta, California. The
residence of Janet Phelps.
• The demolition and site removal of the remaining garage walls, roofing,
roof sheeting, and trusses back to master bedroom, 3' of block wall and
gate at right of garage.
• The reframing of the garage walls, Storage area, and the installation of the
roof trusses, including all -necessary hardware.
• The replacement of the insulated garage door and Genie door opener,
house to garage door, garage to storage door, and storage to exterior door
and all associated hardware.
• R-38 batt insulation in the ceiling of the replaced roof trusses, and R-13 in
all exterior conditioned .walls.
• Lath & plaster of the new garage, new soffit area walls and any other
minor patches due to the demolition of the roof trusses.
• The replacement of the garage cabinet, and the masonry wall attached to
the garage and the left side of the associated gate.
• The re -roofing of the garage, house back to the small shed roof over the
master bedroom, and new roof venting per code.
• The repainting of the interior of the home with 2 coats of paint including a
chemical seal on all smoke damaged areas.
• New forced air unit (4 ton York air handler 10 seer rating) and re-ductin — y 2 M�,v
of all damaged areas.
• Repair all damaged plumbing vents, copper lines, new 40 gal. water heater
and heater vent. Remove and replace the gas lines to code in the attic.
• Remove and replace all lights, switches , receptacles, and wires damaged in
the garage, all receptcales in the home are to remain intact, all damaged
wires in the attic back to their -point of origin or back to an approved
central junction box in the attic per code and city requirements. Remove,
clean and replace all H7 .recessed ceiling lighting, and replace_any_. H7 light
fixtures damaged beyond repair , _

-In response to the inquiry by the local inspec:c.or about the
'need for ridge blocking betwaen trusses I would point out two
:r.gasons why it is probably not necessary. First, if the trusses
::.•a��:sheathed with a minimum :of 3/8" thick plywood and proper
bracing, such as that shown in-BWT-7G (a current Truss
ate'(:Institute publication) is in place, racking, or roll over
o ...e*.trusses should no longer be possible. Secondly, since the
trusses are continuous framing members (continuous through the
ridge blocking isn't needed to ensure a continuous roof
