The Committee has approved the revised plans and tile board as submitted. The Committee noted that you have not extended the drain system to the backyard. The Committee believes this is shortsighted and takes no responsibility for the drainage problems that will occur. The Committee also notes that properties on Lima with similar grades have complete drainage systems. When all work on the project has been completed, please notify this office in writing so that the improvements can be inspected and signed off by the Architectural Committee and your deposit can be returned to you. Good luck with your project! Sincerely, a Tom Miller Association Manager On behalf of the Architectural Committee Citrus Course Homeowners Association P.O. Reissued May 1, 1999 VELUX ROOF WINDOWS AND SKYLIGHTS VELUX-AMERICA INC. POST OFFICE BOX 5001 GREENWOOD, SOUTH CAROLINA 29646-5001 1.0 SUBJECT VELUX Roof Windows and Skylights. 2.0 PROPERTY FOR WHICH EVALUATION IS SOUGHT Structural Performance. 3.0 DESCRIPTION VELUX skylights are constructed of laminated southern yel- low pine wood framing, encased, on the exterior, in No. 22 gage aluminum cladding. The skylights have dual glazing, consisting of 1/47inch (6.4 mm) laminated tempered glass or 13/84 -inch (6.2 mm) laminated heat-strerigthened glass on the bottom; a 9/32 -inch (7.1 mm) airspace; and 1/g -inch -thick (3.2 mm) tempered glass on the top. The laminated tem- pered glass consists of two plies of 1/8 -inch -thick (3.0 mm) tempered glass, laminated together with a 0.030 -inch -thick (0.76 mm) polyvinyl butyral interlayer. The laminated heat - strengthened glass consists of two plies of 3/32 -inch -thick (2.2 mm) heat -strengthened glass laminated together with a 0.030 -inch -thick (0.76 mm) polyvinyl butyral interlayer. VELUX skylights are available in Models VS, FSF and FS. Various outside frame dimensions are available, ranging in orientation from 211/2 inches (546 mm) in width to 55 inches (1397 mm) in length. The VS skylight is hinged at the top, and is crank operated to open. Models FSF and FS are fixed sky- light units. See Tables 1 and 2 for sizes and allowable loads. 4.0 INSTALLATION VELUX skylights shall be attached to roof framing members by L-shaped mounting brackets. Four brackets shall be used with Model FS and FSF skylights. Six brackets shall be used with all sizes of Model VS skylights, except four brackets are required for the 211/2 -inch -by -381/2 -inch (546 mm by 978 mm) and 211/2 -Inch -by -271/2 -inch (546 mm by 698 mm) VS skylight models. The brackets are zinc -chromate -coated steel angles 21/4 inches (57 mm) by 1% inches (41 mm) by 113/16 inches (46 mm), 1/8 inch (3.2 mm) in thickness. The bracket shall be positioned and premounted on the skylight frame with one No. 8 by 1 -inch -long (25 mm) wood screw. At the jobsite, the bracket shall be bent over and fastened to the skylight frame with two additional No. 8 by 1 -inch -long (25 mm) wood screws. See Figure 2. The other leg of the bracket shall be attached with three No. 8 by 1 -inch -long (25 mm) wood screws. Where roof sheathing exceeds 1/2 inch (12.7 mm) in thickness, screws attaching the brackets to the roof deck shall have sufficient length to penetrate wood structural framework a minimum of 3/4 inch (19 mm). The bracket shall be replaced if fractured or broken while being bent at the job - site. Number 22 gage aluminum or copper flashing shall be attached over the screws at the perimeter of the skylights. See Figure 1 for typical installation details. Model FS and FSF skylights shall be installed in accordance with the Velux Installation Instructions, No. V -USA -1171.0898, dated 1998. Model VS skylights shall be installed in accordance with the Velux Installation Instructions, No. V -USA -1267-0198, dated 1998. In cases of conflict, installation details described in this report govern over the manufacturer's installation instructions. 5.0 IDENTIFICATION The VELUX skylights shall be identified with the name and address of the manufacturer, the glazing types and the Na- tional Evaluation Service report number. The type of laminated pane shall be identified by a numerical code in the production code which is stamped into the alumi- num spacer between the panes, located in the upper left cor- ner. The numerical code for the laminated heat -strength- ened pane is 74 (VELTERM G'74) and the numerical code for the laminated tempered pane is 9910 (VELTERM G' 9910). 6.0 EVIDENCE SUBMITTED 6.1 Manufacturer's brochure, 1997 edition. 6.2 Manufacturer's Installation instructions. 6.3 Reports of structural tests in accordance with ASTM E 330, prepared by Architectural Testing, Inc: 1.
