It was the concern of your homeowners association that the unit being installed within the shared exterior wall would violate the requirements of the California Building Code. During my visit critical aspects of the construction had been concealed and thus the integrity of the fire - resistance -rated wall (the wall between the garage and courtyard) was unable to be verified. However, the La Quinta Building and Safety Department has determined that the unit if installed properly would be acceptable in its current location under our adopted building and municipal codes. This letter is only intended to provide you and your association with our determination and.not to be construed as an approval. A building permit with all mandatory inspections completed is required for Final Approval. In order to proceed: 1.
