I am a licensed Architect in the State of California and the licensed design professional of the noted project's
structural system.
The Owner of the noted project squired a revised detail to connect the beam to the SW24x11's at
the rear Patio. The owner wanted to raise the soffit of the patio roof to be flush and thus not bear
on the patio—beam but be flush'framed to the beam, still keeping the SW24x11's buts having the
bottom of the patio roof at +12'-0". Attached please find the detail that reflects the necessary retrofit
attachment of the beam to. the'$iaipSeSW24x11's.
In light of the 'actual design loading I hereby certify that the detail will adequately support the
applied design loading.
I hereby state therefore, that'the project still conforms to the structural design intent of the structural
design calculations and is ready for back checking.
