From the pictures it looks like the piping is pretty old. I would check the rusted piping for any gas leaks. The field inspector should inform you of that and any other issues. I talked to our Building Official who says it'll probably run you about $120 total. He'll need a sketch from you: - Of the proposed location of the fire pit - Size of the pipe - How long the pipe might be - And where it's going to connect to the existing system If you want to email me the sketch first, I can forward it to him and let you know if everything is OK.
