Dear Mr. Safir:
This letter is to report approval of the setback adjustment application pursuant.to Chapter 9.188 of
the City of La Quinta Planning and Zoning regulations, subject,to Conditions and according to the
attached exhibits.
SETBACK ADJUSTMENT REQUEST:1 To reduce the side yard setback from 5' to 3' for -a patio
cover (i.e., 3' to vertical support post and 2' to the trellis wood members).
CONDITIONS: 1. Obtain a building permit from the Building & Safety Department.
2.. Comply with Laguna de la Paz architectural requirements.
3. The support post shall *be no closer than 3' to the side property line
with an additional one -foot eave overhang.
After review it was determined that.-

hat:1., This adjustment is consistent with the intent and purpose of the Zoning Ordinance to
allow development of accessory structures in an R-2 District.
2. There are special circumstances applicable to the property, including such factors as
size, shape,. topography, location or surroundings .thatjustify approval of the
adjustment. Those circumstances are: (1) the patio cover is located abutting a zero
lot line planned under Tract No. 20052, and (2) the vertical support post for the patio
cover is 3' from the common property line.
3. This. adjustment will not be detrimental to the health, safety, and general welfare of
