In response to your comments for a cart storage in the parking lot. I wanted to discuss the type of carts that
Dollar Tree uses in their stores in order to avoid any carts leaving the store.
Attached I've provided the standard dimensions of a Dollar Tree cart for your reference and the 2nd
attachment shows the security .pole that is attached to cart and sits 75" (over 6' )' above the cart to avoid carts
from leaving the store.
Can you advise if this will acceptable as a response to your comments?

Below is the parking section related to that comment (citation is Section 9.150.080.1-1):
H. Shopping Cart Storage.
1. Every use which utilizes shopping carts shall provide a shopping cart collection area or cart racks.
2. Cart racks shall be distributed so that no parking space within the facility is more than 100 feet from the
nearest cart rack in order to prevent parking spaces from being lost to the random abandonment of shopping
carts.
3. Each cart rack shall include either a steel frame or curbs on the lower side to contain the shopping carts.
4. Nonresidential site development permit approvals shall include a condition requiring parking lots to be
cleared of shopping.carts no less frequently than once every two hours. More than twenty-five percent of
the required parking spaces blocked by shopping carts shall constitute a public nuisance and shall be
abated.
5. Site plans and parking facilities shall be arranged in such a way that pedestrians with carts need not cross
major internal driveways or alternatively, to provide a crosswalk at crossing points with textured paving
preceding the crosswalk to alert drivers.
6. If sidewalks adjacent to stores are used for temporary storage of assembled shopping carts, such sidewalks
shall be designed with extra width so that pedestrian flows are not blocked by shopping carts. The
planning commission may also require a screening wall or landscape screening in front of such a cart
storage area.

A five year fire sprinkler service and certification for the existing fire sprinkler system is
required per Title 19. A licensed C-16 contractor must complete the servicing and
certification. Documentation of completed work must be submitted to the appropriate Fire
Protection Planning office. The maintenance records for the fire sprinkler system must be
available on-site for review by field Inspector/personnel.
The existing fire alarm system shall be modified to provide proper coverage as required by
the California Building Code, California Fire Code and adopted standards. A C-10 licensed
contractor must submit plans to the Fire Marshal's office for review and approval prior to
installation.

This form is to be used by the designer and attached to the plans. Listed below is the acceptance test for the Lighting system,
LTG -2A. The designer is required to check the acceptance tests and list all control devices serving the building or space shall be certified as
meeting Acceptance Requirements for Code Compliance. If all the lighting system or control of a certain type requires a test, list the different
lighting and the number of systems. The NA 7 Section in Appendix of the Nonresidential Reference Appendices manual describes the test. Since
this form will be part of the plans, completion of this section will allow the responsible party to budget for the scope of work appropriately. Forms can
be grouped by type of Luminaire controlled
Enforcement Agency:
Systems Acceptance. Before Occupancy Permit is granted for a newly constructed building or space or when ever new lighting system with
controls is installed in the building or space shall be certified as meeting the Acceptance Requirements.
The LTG -2A form is not considered a complete form and is not to be accepted by the enforcement agency unless the boxes are checked and/or
filled and signed. In addition, a Certificate of Acceptance forms shall be submitted to the enforcement agency that certifies plans, specifications,
installation certificates, and operating and maintenance information meet the requirements of 10-103(b) of Title 24 Part 6. The field inspector
must receive the properly filled out and signed forms before the building can receive final occupancy. A copy of the LTC -2A for each different
lighting luminaire control(s) must be provided to the owner of the building for their records.

14 Building Lighting Shut-off
The building lighting shut-off system consists of an automatic time switch, with a zone
for each floor.
X Override for Building Lighting Shut-off
The automatic building shut-off system is provided with a manual accessible override
switch in sight of the lights. The area of override is not to exceed 5,000 square feet.
X Automatic Control Devices Certified
All automatic control devices specified are certified, all alternate equipment shall be
certified and installed as directed by the manufacturer.
X Fluorescent Ballast and Luminaires Certified
All fluorescent fixtures subject to certification and specified for the projects are
certified.
X Individual Room/Area Controls
Each room and area in this building is equipped with a separate switch or occupancy
sensor device for each area with floor -to -ceiling walls.
10 Uniform Reduction for Individual Rooms
All rooms and areas greater than 100 square feet and more than 0.8 wafts per
square foot of lighting load shall be controlled with multi-level switching for uniform
reduction of lighting within the room.

Required Acceptance Tests
Designer:
This form is to be used by thge designer and attached to the plans. Listed below are all the acceptance tests for mechanical systems. The designer is required to check the applicable
boxes by all acceptance tests that apply and list all equipment that requires an acceptance test. If all equipment of a certain type requires a lest, list the equipment description and the
number of systems. The NA number designates the Section in the Appendix of the Nonresidential Reference Appendices Manual that describes the lest. Since this form will be part of
the plans, completion of this section will allow the responsible party to budget for the scope of work appropriately.
Enforcement Agency:
Systems Acceptance. Before occupancy permit is granted for a newly constucted building or space, are new spaceconditloning system serving a building or space is operated for
normal use, all control devices serving the building or space shall be certified as meeting the Acceptance Requirements for Code Compliance.
Systems Acceptance. Before occupancy permit is granted. All newly installed HVAC equipment must be tested using the Acceptance Requirements.
The MECI+IC forth is not considered a completed form and is not to be accepted by the building department unless the correct boxes are checked. The equipment requiring testing,
person performing the test (Example: HVAC installer, TAB contractor, controls contractor, PE in charge of project) and what Acceptance test must be conducted. The following
checkedoRforms are required for ALL newly installed equipment. In addition a Certificate of Acceptence fomes shall be submitted to the building department that certifies plans,
specifications, installation vertificates, and operating and maintenance information meal the requirements of 10-103(b) and Title 24 Pert 6. The building inspector must recleve the
property filled out and signed fortes before the building can recieve final occupancy.

WITHOUT ADJUSTING THE THERMOSTAT SETTING;
-A PERMANENT, EASILY READABLE, AND WEATHERPROOF PLATE OR CARD THAT GIVES INSTRUCTION FOR THE ENERGY
EFFICIENT OPERATION OF THE POOL OR SPA AND FOR THE PROPER CARE OF POOL OR SPA WATER WHEN A COVER 15 USED;

-A HEATING SOURCE THAT 15 NOT ELECTRIC RESISTANCE..
-LISTED PACKAGE UNITS WITH.FULLY INSULATED ENCLOSURES AND TIGHT-FITTING COVERS INSULATED TO AT LEAST R-6 MAY USE
ELECTRIC RESISTANCE HEATING.
-POOLS OR SPAS DERIVING AT LEAST 60% OF THE ANNUAL HEATING ENERGY FROM SITE SOLAR ENERGY OR RECOVERED

THIS FORM 15 USED TO DOCUMENT THE DESIGN OUTDOOR VENTILATION RATE FOR EACH SPACE, AND THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF OUTDOOR
AIR THAT WILL BE PROVIDED BY THE SPACE- CONDITIONING OR VENTILATING SYSTEM.. FOR VAV SYSTEMS, TH15 FORM AL50
DOCUMENTS THE REDUCED CFM TO WHICH EACH VAV BOX MUST CONTROL BEFORE ALLOWING REHEAT.
ONE COPY OF TH15 FORM SHOULD BE PROVIDED FOR EAC14 MECHANICAL SYSTEM.. ADDITIONAL COPIES MAY BE REQUIRED FOR
SYSTEMS WITH A LARGE NUMBER OF SPACES OR ZONES.. IN LIEU OF TH15 FORM, THE REQUIRED OUTDOOR VENTILATION RATES AND
AIRFLOWS MAY BE SHOWN ON THE PLANS OR THE CALCULATIONS CAN BE PRESENTED IN A SPREADSHEET.
NOTE THAT, IN ALL OF THE CALCULATIONS THAT COMPARE A SUPPLY QUANTITY TO THE REQ D O..A.. QUANTITY, THE ACTUAL
PERCENTAGE OF OUTDOOR AIR IN THE SUPPLY 15 IGNORED..
