Dear Mr. Murdock:
The Planning Department has reviewed and approved -your request for two permanerit" ..
monument signs for the Komar Desert Center located at on Highway 1,11; as shown -in the
attached exhibit. The approval is subject to the following conditions:
1. The permanent monument signs shall not be.located within -five feet of a street
right-of-way nor within a corner cutoff area identified in Section 9.100.030D..
2. If required, a building permit shall be obtained from the Building .& Safety.
Department prior to installation of the sign.
I have enclosed three stamped approved copies of the plans. Two are for your submittal to';
the Building & Safety Department and the other is for your records.

1. Specify on the plans that special inspection is required for all field welding. (CBC 1704.3)
2. Provide calculation for welded, connection and aluminum angle saddle frame to resist moment
from sign about the pipe column or provide a footing for the sign frame to be anchored to.
If corrections require revisions to the structural calculations, provide one complete copy of
the redlined calculations from this submittal plus two complete, bound copies of the revised
calculations for review and approval. Providing only a few supplemental, revised pages will
not be accepted and will delay approval of this project.
Please incorporate requested corrections into plan sets and reprint.
