SUBJECT: TEMPORARY USE PERMIT 2018-0007: PROVIDENT BANK + RAP
FOUNDATION’S JOINT NONPROFIT MIXER
Dear Ms. Brown:
The Design and Development Department has reviewed and approved your request to hold
a commercial event at the parking lot between Provident Bank and Pizza Factory property
at 78-752 Highway 111. The approval of the event is granted under Section 9.100.120
(Sidewalk sales and commercial events) of the La Quinta Municipal Code subject to the
following Conditions of Approval:
1. The applicant shall obtain a City of La Quinta Business License and California
Board of Equalization Seller’s permit prior to event. You can contact City Hall at
(760) 777-7000 for information on obtaining the Business License and contact
(760) 770-4828 for more information on obtaining Seller’s permit. Proof of
Business License and Seller’s permit shall be provided to Design and Development
department by end of business day May 30, 2018.
2. The event shall be held between 6:00pm and 8:00pm on May 30, 2018.
3. The event area shall be monitored and secured at all times.
4. The event shall be contained within the parking lot area as identified on the plans
submitted and attached as part of this application.
5. The set-up and operation of the event shall be consistent with the attached
exhibits and information on file.
6. Roadways, parking areas, and pedestrian and vehicular traffic aisles to other
businesses and activities in the vicinity shall be maintained accessible at all times.
7. Adequate and legal pedestrian access shall be maintained around booths.
8. The site shall be left clean and in its original manner at the conclusion of the
event.
9. Any tents that measure or exceed 20’ x 20’ are not permitted as part of this
event. Approval for use of tents this size requires Building and Fire permit
approval.
10. Any damage to the public hardscape caused by this event shall be repaired as
directed by the City Engineer. This includes but is not limited to sidewalks, curb
and gutter, landscaping, and pavement especially within the surrounding public
streets and right of way.
By holding this event, the applicant agrees to indemnify, defend and hold harmless the City
of La Quinta in the event of any legal claim or litigation arising out of the City’s approval of
this project. The City of La Quinta shall have the right to select its defense counsel at its
sole discretion. Adherence to these conditions, as outlined, will ensure that adverse
impacts to surrounding properties and businesses will be minimized. The City may elect to
add conditions to this application to mitigate any problems that arise not previously
