NOTICE 15 HEREBY GIVEN that the City of La Quinta City Council will hold a
PUBLIC HEARING an Tuesdayy June 19, 2018 at 5:00 p.m. In the La Quinta City
Hall Council Chambers, 78-4 Calle Tampico, La Quinta, Califomia, on the fo -
lowing item:
THE FISCAL YEAR 2018/2019 ANNUAL ASSESSMENT FOR LANDSCAPE AND
LIGHTING ASSESSMENT DISTRICT 81 1
Maintenance of landscape improvements in r&dways and drainage facilities is
a very important service In our community. Landscaping, if well maintained,
provides beautification and enhancement to the surroundings, along with a
positive effect on property values.
At the Public Meeting, City staff will present the proposed assessment levy and
will accept questions thereon. At the Public Hearing, the City Council will hear
comments In support of arid protests aggainst the annual levy prior to acting on
the levy of assessments for Fiscal Year 201W2019. Any property owner may mall
a protest against the assessment to the City of Ira Quinta, Steve Howlett,
Facilities Director, 78.495 CalleTampico. La Quinta; CA 92253.
The annual assessments generated by the existing 1972 Act City of La Quinta
Landscaping and Lighting District will fund the cost of providing installation,
servicing maintenance, and operation of landscaping, lighting and appurten-
ant facilities within the City of La Quinta that are exempt unr�er provisions of
Proposition 218 voted In by the Californla'residents during the November 1996
election,
In the City's efforts to comply With the requirements of TAW Ii of the Americans
With Disabilities Act Of 1990, the City Manager's Department requires that any
person in need of any type of special equipment, assistance or
accommodations) in order to communicate at a City puhlTr meeting, must
inform the City Manager's Department a minimum a 72 hours prior to tha
scheduled meeting.
