Dear Mr. Loukatos:
Your request to sell agricultural products grown at 50-400 Jefferson Street is hereby approved
subject to the following Conditions:
1, The sale of agricultural products shall be allowed from February 14, 1995, to July 1, 1995,
pursuant to the attached information. Such products can include field crops, flowers or
vegetables per Chapter 9.32 of tie 'Municipal Zoning . Code. Fall season sales may be
allowed if a letter of request with specific time frames is received before start of -the future
sales activity.
2. One nonilluminated sign shall be permitted provided it does not exceed two square feet.
No other signs will be allowed.
3. This permit is subject to an annual review by staff. Each year the applicant shall reapply
to conduct temporary plant sales at this site. No fees will be required for this review.
4. A City Business License shall be acquired.
5. Within 30 -days of this approval, the applicant shall install a two-inch deep layer of gravel
in front of the temporary sales stand per Chapter 6.16 (Dust Control). The gravel parking
area shall be 12 -feet wide and 60 -feet long. An encroachment permit is required.

I am a flower farmer here in the rural part of,the city
of La Quint.a, and,this is my second year farming cut
flower s for florists .
lorist.s. here in the desert.. I originally farmed
in San Diego county and moved my business here last year.
The area I farm is on Jefferson Ave (50-400 Jefferson.).
I currently lease ground from Sonny Kanlian to do my farming,
and I wanted to get permission from the city of La Quinta to
he allowed to sell my farm products along the property
roadside on Jefferson Ave. It. would he a temporary stand set
up in the afternoons and removed daily. This.would occur
only when our product is being harvested. The harvest.
periods are Usually only from February t.hru May.
I came. into the city civic center. last week and was
given information towards permitted uses for R-1 zone. Under
the 9.32.010 permitted uses A-2 section it. mentions the sale
of field crops, flower and vegetable gardening. It also
mentions the Use of sale thereof from the premises. I
would ask to be granted a use. permit to be allowed to sell my
agr ir_.0 1 tura.l products .
I want to he in good standing with the city, and above
all legal in what I am doing. Attached is the area that I am
farming. The road in t.his.area is quite rural and wide. If
you could let me know as soon as possible I would greatly
