In addition to the standard permit conditions, the following shall apply:
1. Permittee shall be responsible for providing continuous dust and erosion control.
2. Streets shall be kept clean. They shall be completely cleaned at the end of each working day
and more frequently if required.
3. Contractor shall comply with the local noise ordinance. Operation and maintenance of
equipment within one half mile of human occupancy shall be performed only during the
following time periods:
October 1st to April 30: Monday -Friday 7:00 a.m. to 5:30p. m.
Saturday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00p. m.
May 1st to September 30: Monday=Friday 6:00 a.m. to 7:00p.m.
Saturday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00p.m.
Work shall'be prohibited on legal holidays including Sundays.
4. Permittee shall assume responsibility for repair of any pavement breakdown at the haul road
access to any public or private street and for any damage to other City streets or facilities.
5. Advance warning signs and traffic control shall be installed and maintained in accordance with
Cal Trans Standards or the Work Area Traffic Control Handbook. It shall be the permittee's
responsibility to detour and barricade this site.
6.. Should additional work, materials, or modifications of the work be required in order to meet city
standards, safety requirements, signage requirements, or to fit actual field conditions, the work
shall be performed by the permittee as directed by and to the satisfaction of the City Engineer
at no. cost to the City of La Quinta.

7. All work shall be coordinated with the City, the City's contractor and/or others working within
the area as directed by and to the satisfaction of the City Engineer.
8. All streets, city property, facilities etc. shall be returned to their original conditions as directed
by and to the satisfaction of the City Engineer.

Subject: Permit to hold a minor outdoor event in La Quinta PUBLIC WORKS

Event Description:
On December 3,1995 the California Dump Truck Owners Association
will be holding its first annual Make -A -Wish Foundation charity
truck run. Independant owners of southern Californias trucking
industry will get sponsors for their trucks. They will start at
the Cabazon Dinosaur restaurant and proceed down I-10 to Highway
111. Ending in the city of La Quinta. The trucks will park along
Tampico and a request for approval to use the city owned land on
Navarro and Montezuma.
An afternoon picnic is planned at the La Quinta Community Park.
Which has already been reserved and the community building rented.
The food will be served from the kitchen facility, by the spouses
of the men participateing in the run. All food will be donated
by the C.D.T.O.A. members. Coffee will be the only,thing prepared
on site. Food may be kept warm in the oven. Buf£:t tables will be
set up inside the building. Food will only be served to C.D.T.O.A.
members and their guests. I am currently in the process of
scheduling.entertainment.
At the present time we have a dance group to perform and the
La Quinta Fire Department will arrive for a brief time with
SAnta Claus. The La Quinta High School Jazz band has been
requested. A letter has also been sent to Congressman Sonny
Bono requesting an appearance. A representative from the Make -A-._
Wish foundation will be present to accept a mock check from the
California Dump Truck Owners Association.
I have spoke to Phil Blaur from KESQ-TV. I will submit a written
request six weeks prior to the event for media coverage.
Two port -o -lets have been donated by Morrisons Rent -A -Jon.
They will be delivered that morning and removed.that evening.
The volunteers working at the event will start at approximately
9:30 AM to 10:00 AM.
The trucks will start the run in Cabazon at 10:00AM.They should
arrive in La Quinta at approximately 11:30AM to 12:OOPM.
The lunch hour should be from 12:30PM to 2:OOPM. Entertainment
from 2:00 to 4:00 PM. Clean-up from 4:30 to ?
A banner will be hung in the park. Banners will be allowed on the
sides of the trucks. I have spoke to Lt. Ron Dye from the Riverside
County Sheriffs Dept. regarding this. There is the possibility
of a police escort for the trucks. Lt. Dye will give us more
information closer to the event.
