However, in lieu of your request, we do have an alternative for you to consider. City staff visited the site and determined that there is insufficient parking stall depth for a compact space. Additionally we considered authorizing a new location for the trash enclosure immedialtely . south of the newly installed electrical panel which would then make two parkingi stalls (the ones located on each side of the trash enclosure) questionable instead of just one bad stall. Therefore, staff believes it would be more prudent to utilize the substandard parking space located immediately south of the newly installed electrical panel more efficiently by offering a spacious parking opportunity for an alternative mode of transportation --- more particularly, a bike rack capable of parking six or more bicycles. If you choose to implement the bike paring alternative, please install a permanent bike rack near the west side of the trash enclosure and orient it so the bicycles are parked in an east -west direction when placed in the bike rack. Additionally, the bike parking area should have a couple of bollards three feet from the north edege of the alley to prevent automobiles from illegally parking in the space allocated for bicycle parking. You of course have the option of moving the electrical panel to the location where it was originally, approved for installation if the. bicycle parking option does not suit your needs.
