Sunday, October 10, 1999. 1. City. crews will unload barricades, signs, and cones at the northerly end of Avenida Velasco at 6:00 A.M. Sunday, October 10, 1999. 2. Romano Verlengia from the Public Works Department will be available during traffic control'set-up and throughout the race. In the event his assistance is required, he can be reached by,cellular, phone at 861-3390, or paged at 864--2474. 3. - Please refer to the intersection drawing schematics: when setting up the traffic control. 4. .The volunteer at Avenida Obregon & Calle Yucatan must direct traffic through that intersection to avoid conflicts with the runners. A stop/slow paddle is provided as part of the traffic control; and a whistle is desirable for this individual to have. 5. Twenty cones are provided for the'Avenida Carranza cul-de-sac, to assist with channelizing the runners-. 6. A sign reading "BIKE PATH CLOSED SUNDAY 6:00 A.M. I have created a racecourse that will require minimal street closure throughout the Cove community. I would like to have Montazuma St. and the lower section of Velasco St. dosed for two hours on Sunday October 10, 1999 between the hours of 8:00 A.M. and 10:00 A.M. The racewill start at Frances Hack Paric, travel down Velasco, and continue on the bike path. The race will then finish back at Frances Hack Park via Velasco and Montazuma. (See enclosed map for more detail) I will provide water stations and first aid stations throughout the course. 1 will also have race, directors holding signs with directional arrows for the participants.
