NOTICE IS HEREBY GWEN that the City of La Oulnta City Council will hold a PUBLIC HEARING on AUGUST 7, 2D18,
at 5:00 p.m., in the La Quinta City Hall Council Chamber, 78495 Calle Tampico, La Quinta, California, on the following
item:
AMENDMENT TO CHAPTER 3.33 OF THE LA QUINTA MUNICIPAL CODE
PERTAINING TO THE COLLECTION OF
TRANSPORTATION UNIFORM MITIGATION FEES
The City of La Quirrta (City) is a Member Agency of the Cnachal[a.Valley Association of Governments (CVAG), a joint
powers agency. Member Agencies developed a plan whereby the shortfall in funds needed to enlarge the capacity
of the Regional System of Highways and Arterials within CVAG's jurisdiction (the Regional System) could be made up
in part by a Transportation Un'dorm Mitigation Fee (TUMF) lmpbsed an future residential, commercial and industrial
development within the jurisdiction.
The City became a TUMF collecting member of CVAG in 2013. Based on the 1987 Transportation Study, the City
adopted and implemented CVAG's model TUMF ordinance as La Quinta Municipal Code Chapter 3.33.
The CVAG commissioned 2018 Nexus Study revealed the need to revise certain provisions of the model TUMF
ordinance to reflect changes in the Mitigation Fee Act which governs the adoption and implementation of development
impact fees and to reflect the findings bf-the 2018 Nexus Study.
At the Public Meeting, City staff will presentthe proposed updated TUMF ordinance and fees, and will accept questions
thereon. All interested persons are invited to be present and be heard.
Any person may submit written Comments an the contemplated action fisted above to the attention of Bryan McKinney,
P.E., City Engineer, prior to the Hearing andlnr may appear and be heard in support of, a apposition to the item at the
time of the Hearing. If you challenge the decision of the action listed above in court, you may be limited to ralsing
only those issues that you or someone else raised either at the Public Hearing or in written correspondence delivered
to the City Clerk Department at, or prforto the Public Hearing. A copy of the proposed updated TUMF Ordinance and
Fees is available at City Hall and may be viewed by the public Monday through Thursday, from 7:30 a.m._to 5:30 p.m.,
and Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., at the Hub, La Quinta City Hall, 78495 Calle Tampico, La Quinta, California.
In the City's efforts to comply with the requirements of Title II of the Americans With Disabilities Act Of 1990, the City
Clerk Department requires that any person in need of any type of special equipmeat, assistance or accommodation(s)
i in order to communicate at a Clty public meeting, must inform the City Cleric Department a minimum of 72 hours prior
to the scheduled meeting.
